Working with social psychologists at local universities, they're continually adjusting their programming to address the specific needs of their kids. While the average person might assume that the homeless they see on the streets represent the majority of the population, the average age of a homeless person is 9 years old. UpSpring works to meet the specific needs of these kids in the hopes of maintaining their educational development and childhood experience. Whether it's traveling to the kids to get them to camp, or providing enrichment activities to help maintain their grade level, they're constantly striving to make kids feel confident and valued. UpSpring tailors its work to ensure that kids have a rich and fun experience, in spite of their home life. Getting to spend a few days with these kids and the volunteers and staffers who run their summer camp (and other programming throughout the year) was an amazing experience! Hundreds of feet below the earth's surface is the largest particle collider/ science experiment in history. Nice try doing it justice, mural. The LHC is just the latest (and greatest) in decades of experimenting with particle collisions. The work being done today comes from a long and fascinating line of experiments dating back from the post war period.
